PerfectDisk 11 defrag -- on the horizon

Thursday, October 22, 2009 by Joe Abusamra

September 30, 2009 - a fun day here at PerfectDisk headquarters -- the pre-Alpha code for PerfectDisk 11 was distributed internally here this morning. More auto defrag functionality without bloat. Backend and frontend improvements. Shinier and more intuitive, without a new learning curve required. Faster. More virtualization improvements. Desktops, laptops, production servers, Exchange servers and Windows Home Servers will benefit.

Okay, I'm biased. But your chance to see for yourselves is coming.

I know you're asking...if PerfectDisk 10 is so great, why an 11? Well, for the best defrag software, we felt "a little extra push" was needed...

And here it is.

11 is on its way -- stay tuned.

Comments for PerfectDisk 11 defrag -- on the horizon

Friday, October 30, 2009 by wade :
I was wondering if you can tell me when perfect disk 11 will be coming out,I'm currently using perfect disk 10 and I have it installed on my PC that is running Window's 7,I'm also wondering will 11 defrag faster on a machine that has 7 for it's OS.I understand with my Question in regard's to when Perfect Disk 11 will come out that nothing is written in stone because as you find bug's one maybe much easier and faster to fix than another and there for you can never be sure how long it will take to fix everything to make it run stable enough to release it.If you can tell me the offical release date that would be grate and if you can not I would even be happy with a ball park guess,I have used Perfect Disk for sometime now and I've always been really happy with them. Keep up the good work and get 11 out like yesterday. Wade Norton

Hi Wade, Thanks for the comment. I wish I could say yesterday, but I won't...:) Your "ballpark" answer is Q1, with news on the beta coming soon. Look here and on Twitter (www.perfectdisk.com/perfectdisk) for the latest. And yes, there are performance (speed) improvements coming in PD 11, including for Windows 7). Thanks, Joe

When I bought Perfect Speed the 31st of Dec. It said I was allowed to get an free upgrade to Perfect Disk 11. Was that true?
Saturday, January 9, 2010 by Joe Abusamra:
Hi Ralph, yes it was true. PerfectDisk 11 is not yet available. When it is, you will receive your free upgrade. Thanks, Joe

Silly question perhaps, but will this be a free upgrade to paid PD 10 users... hey! the personal finances are so painful for some of us, many of us, I hope RAXCO takes this into consideration for long-time loyal users (like me) and give a heckofa deal, like $9.95 would be "Perfect".

Hi Will, You'll get a heckofadeal.....and you can decide if it's perfect! Thanks, Joe

Hello, I have 3 linences for Perfect disc 10. What I have to pay for an update if PD 11 is ready?
Thursday, January 28, 2010 by Alan:
Will perfect disk 11 do a boot time defrag better than perfect disk 10 meaning will perfect disk 11 close all open handles and not freeze because another program opens up before like boot screen managers which makes the boot time not work
Thursday, January 28, 2010 by Joe Abusamra:
Hi Alan, Well, in this regard you won't see a difference. PerfectDisk doesn't brute force itself on the disk by design. It plays friendly with all other applications, and if it's denied access, it concedes. It's the safest approach to take. Thanks, Joe

Hi Gerd, Stay tuned for details! Thanks, Joe
Thursday, January 28, 2010 by Alan:
Hi again, is there a way to make perfect disc 11 "Force" all open handles closed, You know like an option or a sort of hack that makes perfect disc 11 tell all other apps to "Get out of the way" at boot time which means I will not have to uninstall the conflicting application just to do a boot time defrag.
Thursday, January 28, 2010 by Joe Abusamra:
Hey Alan, Our first priority is to "do no harm," so we aren't going to allow a "get out of the way" option. If we did something like that, and another driver did not relinquish control, the results might not be pretty, so we need to avoid that. Thanks, Joe

Perfect Disk 10 seems just a little slow on Windows 7
